Hi all,

The End of Year Dinner has been and gone.  About 70 people attended the event at the Cashmere Club and by all accounts, it was an enjoyable evening.  Before the presentation of trophes, tributes were paid to those who had been adversely effected by the earthquake, followed by acknowledging those members who had sufficient birthday and / or set CMA / NZMA records.

Hansen Park

The final gathering at Hansen Park was attended by about 20 people.  Most were happy just to sit around and have a chat, especially as normally keen throwers!!!  Only Loris Reed, Maurice Gough and Les Woods braved the cool and windy conditions to race an 800m.  Loiuse Scott and Bruce McPhail run a few 'wind sprints' as training for the Australian Championships they will be attending in April.  I understand Ric Davison is also going.  Good luck to you all.  Please let me know if you are also going.  For those attending, it was well worth the effort as we had an opportunity to talk about what we have been through recently.

Link Relays - Saturday 26th March 2011 at Halswell Quarry.

This event occurred in hot, nor-west conditions, with over 58 teams attending.  It was a successful day and comments were all favourable about the venue change.  All entry fees will be donated to the Red Cross Earthquake Appeal.  Thank you to all those who helped set up the course and recording results CLICK HERE to see the results.

CMA End of Year Presentation Night - Sunday 3rd April 2011  -  Are you coming???

We need to confirm numbers for this event ASAP.  The format is pre-dinner drinks (5:45 p.m.), dinner (buffet style) (6:15 p.m.) followed by the presentations (7:30 p.m.).  The venue will be Cashmere Club.

If you intend to come and HAVE NOT already let me know, then please do so ASAPCLICK HERE to reply to this request.

CMA will subsidies the cost of this dinner, as we would like as many as possible to attend. Current members of CMA will pay only$10.00 and non-members will pay$20.00.

PLEASE also note that if you say you ARE coming, but do not, you will be expected to pay as we are having a buffet style dinner and we have to pay for the number we say are coming.

Hi all,

Event up dates ....

West Coast Track & Field Championships - SATURDAY 19th March 2011

I have been advised that childrens events have been added to this Saturdays programme.  So theres something there for everyone (see attachment).

Final CMA Meeting - Friday 25th March 2011

Hansen Park is still the most sensible place for this meeting ... BUT who will be competing?  IF you are planning to be there, con you please let me know ASAP.

Link Relay - Saturday 26th March 2011 - NOW at Halswell Quarry.

It my last e-mail I pointed out why the venue has been changed, so I am not repeating myself.  It is disappointing to hear second hand that some members are not happy with the venue change.  I would have preferred that you contact me directly to discuss your concerns.  For those who are supportive, I have attached the race call.  If you would like to compete please enter ASAP or if you can help on the day, please let me know.  Setup time will be from 12:00 noon.

CMA End of Year Presentation Night - Sunday 3rd April 2011

At the CMA Championships, several members indicated they would support a format for this night that included pre-dinner drinks (5:45 p.m.), then dinner (6:15 p.m.) followed by the presentations (7:30 p.m.).  The venue will be Cashmere Club.    Last year, the supper provided at the presentation was not great, but this year we are having dinner.  If you do not want to come to the dinner, you can turn up for the presentation.  If you are still keen, please let me know.  So far I have heard from only 2 people.

I hope that life is settling down, as best it can given your circumstances.

Regards,

Andrew Stark
